Frequently Asked Questions about Hedonism II in Negril Jamaica
Here are some answers to fequent questions that should help you in planning your trip to Hedonism.
Q: What should I bring to wear to theme nights?
A: You don't want to get there and then feel bad because you did not prepare for the themes nights, because most of the girls get dressed up. The themes can sometimes differ, so you will definitely want to ask the person who you are booking through for the details. However, here is some helpful information we have compliled on, "What to Wear on Theme Nights?"
Q: Can I leave my mark at Hedo?
A: Yes! There are thousands of small flat rocks lying around that people painted, normally with their names, dates and a pretty picture. Be careful where you put your rock, so you can find it the next time you come back. Usually people put them by the room they stayed in and bring one on each visit. Make sure to use clear coat paint over the rock after you paint it so it doesn't peel and fade in the sun. It is fun to find your rock the next time you come.
Q: What's another place to claim I'm going to as a cover story?
A: Sandals is the next beach over. Many guests at Hedo walk over to the Sandals Resort for some family friendly photo opportunities. You may want to do this twice so you have a different swimsuit in some of the pictures. These photos can make a great back story of your vacation for those nosey types who want too much information about your trip.

Q: Do I have to be nude?
A: No, there is a clothing optional half of the resort known as the prude side. You can wear as much or as little clothing on that side as you like. The clothing optional side has its own swimming pools and beach. Plus, all of the main restaurants and dance club are on that side.
Q: Are there nudists?
A: Yes, there are nudists. No clothing is allowed at the nude beach and nude pool. This is to help protect the nudists from gawkers. Plus, no cameras are allowed on the nude side.
Q: Are there swingers in Hedonism 2?
A: Yes, there can be swingers there. But, really swingers are everywhere since it has become very main stream in society these days. However, it is something you can easily avoid if you do not want to join in. We have not encountered anyone ever being pushy about it. However, if you want to find swingers you most likely can, especially if you are going with a group that is listed as having swingers in it.
Q: Is marijuana legal in Jamaica?
A: No, it is not legal, but it is everywhere. There is usually a native Jamaican down on the beach waiting to sell you packs of cigarettes, cigars and even maybe a joint or two. People always question the quality of the marijuana the Jamaicans sell, "from what we hear" it's really good stuff. Again, just note that marijuana is illegal in Jamaica.
Q: How are the drinks?
A: Hedonism II serves every type of alcohol including most top shelf brands. They do not skimp and will pour your drinks as strong as you want. However, the drinks are served in very small cups which keeps you going back to the bar constantly, and you don't want to have to do that too much, because the drink line can sometimes take a while. Many people will bring their own mugs and cups (I personally suggest bringing a thermal mug to keep your drinks cooler in the sun). You can also purchase Hedonism mugs at the gift shop.
Q: What do I wear to eat?
A: If you are by the nude pool and beach you can walk up and get food in the nude. However, if you are in the main dining area then you should at least have a swimsuit on during the morning or afternoon. At night most people either dress nice or in theme costumes for that evening.
Q: What shoes should I bring?
A: Mostly just flip-flops or other sandal type of shoes. Of course shoes which go with your outfit theme, and aqua socks.
It is safe to walk out not too far out off the beach but "beware!" going out any further than that you may want to wear aqua socks because you start getting into some grassy areas that have fish, starfish, sea shells, and much more. In these grassy areas there are also hidden sea urchins which have little spines; so that when you step on them they go directly into your feet like painful deep slivers. From personal experience, getting those spines in the heel of my foot (12 in one foot and 6 in the other) hurts really bad, and you can't just dig them out yourself, I had to spend over an hour in the nurse's station getting sea urchin spines pulled out. Needless to say I was still pulling the spines out of my feet little by little 3 weeks later.
Q: Should I bring my own beach towel?
A: No. At Hedonism II you will be each given a towel card. Take the card to one of the towel booths on the beach, present the card to the attendant and he will give you the towels. Whenever you need fresh beach towels, take them to the same booth for an exchange.
Q: What do the rooms look like?
A: The rooms are a little older in styling but are clean. Plus, the beds are firm and comfortable. Here is a picture I took of our room. Most of the time they make neat little towel creations on your bed each day as seen here.
Q: Should I bring my own shampoo and products?
A: For the guys that are not picky there is a shampoo dispenser in the shower. For the ladies that are picky about their products definitely you will want to bring your own shampoo and conditioner. The body wash gel that is offered isn't too bad. Also hair dryers are in the bathrooms, but they are small ones that take forever to dry your hair, so I would definitely bring my own for longer hair.
Another odd recommendation is to bring either an extension cord or plug strip, because there are hardly any plug outlets in the rooms. It is a pain trying to plug in a hair dryer, warm a curling iron, and your husband want's to plug his shaver in at the same time.
If you do forget something like hairspray or toothbrush, these types of items are offered at the gift shop.
Q: How is the bus ride from the airport?
A: It takes around an hour and a half to get to the resort from the airport. Make sure you to use the wash room at the airport before you leave. The buses are older but we have had a good time talking with people on the bus which makes the ride seem much faster. Take pictures along the way because they will be good for your back story with nosey friends and relatives, since most people don't leave the resort after arriving.
Q: Should I bring underwater goggles?
A: There is no need. At Hedonism II you can check out a snorkel mask and fins for free at anytime during the day. You will see colorful fish, sea shells, star fish and more!
Q: How is the scuba diving?
A: I have not personally scuba dived, but here are the details from the sign at the resort. From what I have heard it is very good. However, snorkeling is free and the snorkeling equipment is free, plus they take you out on a boat to a nice reef with lots of fish to see.
Q: Should I bring adult movies?
A: You don't need to adult movies. They have the Skin Channel(hardcore) and the Playboy Channel(softcore) playing 24 hours a day for free on the TV in your room. Better yet the TV is connected to the light switch by the door, so you can have adult entertainment with the flick of a switch.
Q: How much money should I bring?
A: You can bring what you want, however Hedonism II is an all-inclusive resort. You don't pay for food or drinks (yes this includes alcohol), and there is no tipping except for your driver who brings you to and from the airport to Hedonism II Resort. If you want anything special such as a message or take a Catamaran ride to another island, those are extra. You will also want some extra money to buy souvenirs at their little gift shop. There is plenty of free stuff to also do such as kayaking, snorkeling, lounging on rubber rafts in the water, and much more. Optional (at least $250 in small bills).
Q: How is the fitness center?
A: You can use the fitness center at no additional charge. There are treadmills and exercise bikes, plus free weights and machine weights. We use it every morning and don't have to wait to use the equipment, since most of the guests are relaxing on vacation and skip the gym. There are also free yoga classes throughout the day.
Q: Can I use my computer at Hedo II?
A: They do have Internet access and services in which you can pay by the day or week. You can get decent Internet service in most of the rooms, which may vary depending on your computer.
Q: Can I see a map of the resort?
A: Click the map below to enlarge the full layout of the property.
